So I hear a lot of stories about the famous "black thumb" - but I want to encourage you all to realign your expectations Sometimes bad things happen. In this case a plant dying. It doesn't mean that you have a black thumb - it doesn't mean you cursed your plant - or that you don't deserve to own it in the first place! Instead this is a good moment to take a deep breath, be curious about what your plants need, and also be so kind to yourself. If you are new to plant parenting or a seasoned gardener - it can happen to us all! If you consistently feel overwhelmed and anxious about your plants - that's a sign you need more time, and more learning to care for them well. Gardening is a science experiment and an art form all at the same time. The eye to see what plant would look beautiful where - and imagine the flowers all woven together is the art. The science is knowing soils and light and placement - and also what to add or take away from soils and a space to get to the needed ratios. So if your plants aren't thriving yet - let's talk, they are telling you something - we may just need a new way to read the signs.
